Day Wise Itinerary
Today, we begin our adventure as we proceed to Kaziranga, a land where wildlife roams freely and nature sings in every direction. En route, we stop at the awe-inspiring Maha Mrityunjai Temple, home to the world’s tallest Shivling, standing proudly at 126 feet. It’s a spiritual and visual spectacle that sets the tone for the journey ahead. Upon arrival in Kaziranga, enjoy the serenity of the surroundings with some leisure time to relax and unwind amidst the lap of nature.

Get ready for an unforgettable morning as we embark on a thrilling jeep safari in Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Keep your eyes peeled for the famous one-horned rhinoceros, wild elephants, deer, and a variety of migratory birds. Later, we explore the vibrant Orchid Park, which boasts over 600 species of Northeast flora, bamboo gardens, and local handicrafts. A scenic visit to the lush Tea Gardens follows, where you’ll witness Assam’s lifeline up close. As the sun sets, enjoy the energetic and colorful Bihu dance performance, a beautiful reflection of Assamese culture.

We leave the wild behind as we journey to Shillong, the enchanting capital of Meghalaya, fondly known as the ‘Scotland of the East.’ En route, we stop at the picture-perfect Umiam Lake, a serene reservoir surrounded by pine-clad hills. The cool breeze, breathtaking views, and tranquil waters make it an ideal pit stop before we reach our destination. Upon arrival in Shillong, enjoy some free time to relax or explore the surrounding charm at your own pace.

Today, we drive to Mawlynnong, proudly titled the ‘Cleanest Village in Asia.’ Admire its pristine lanes, blooming gardens, and community-driven cleanliness. We then visit the natural marvel of the Balancing Rock and the mesmerizing Living Root Bridge, a living example of bio-engineering. The adventure continues as we proceed to Dawki, where the emerald green Umngot River awaits. Enjoy boating on its crystal-clear waters, with views of the British-era suspension bridge and a brief stop at the India-Bangladesh border at Tamabil. As evening approaches, we return to Shillong for some downtime and relaxation.

Prepare for a scenic journey to Cherrapunjee, known for its dramatic cliffs and status as one of the wettest places on Earth. On the way, we visit the peaceful Cathedral of Mary, the cascading Elephant Falls, and the spiritual Ram Krishna Mission. In Cherrapunjee, we explore the magical Mawsmai Caves, marvel at the roaring Seven Sisters Falls, and gaze upon the majestic Nohkalikai Falls, India’s tallest plunge waterfall. After a full day of soaking in the natural wonders, we head back to Shillong with time for shopping in the local markets.

We bid farewell to the misty hills and drive down to Guwahati, Assam’s vibrant capital. Upon arrival, enjoy a ride on India’s longest river ropeway spanning across the mighty Brahmaputra, offering panoramic views of Umananda Temple, Peacock Island, and the lush riverbanks. As evening falls, we unwind on a sunset river cruise on the Brahmaputra, soaking in the golden hues and peaceful ambiance of Northeast India’s lifeline.

On our final day, we visit the revered Kamakhya Temple, one of the most sacred Shakti Peethas in India, where we offer prayers and receive Mukh Darshan. With hearts full of memories and souls touched by the natural beauty and culture of Assam and Meghalaya, it’s time to say goodbye. As we part ways, we leave with the promise – Phir Milenge! – until we meet again on another unforgettable journey.
