Day Wise Itinerary

Today, we begin our journey to Hampi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the magnificent former capital of the Vijayanagara Empire, renowned for its timeless ruins and captivating landscape. On arrival, we make our way to Hemakuta Hill just in time to catch a mesmerizing sunset casting golden hues over the boulder-strewn terrain—a perfect welcome to this ancient city. Later, we enjoy a casual meet and greet session with our fellow travelers, setting the tone for an exciting trip ahead
After breakfast, we dive into the fascinating world of Hampi’s architectural wonders with a fun auto-rickshaw tour. We begin with the iconic Virupaksha Temple, one of India’s oldest functioning temples, followed by the majestic Vittala Temple Complex, home to the famous Stone Chariot and musical pillars. Strolling through the ancient bazaar streets, we relive Hampi’s bustling past before heading to the mysterious Underground Shiva Temple. Later, we step into royal history at the Royal Centre, exploring marvels like Queen’s Bath, the ornate Lotus Mahal, and the grand Elephant Stables. The Hazara Rama Temple and the towering Lakshmi Narasimha statue leave us in awe with their intricate carvings and grandeur. As the day winds down, we enjoy a peaceful coracle ride on the river, offering a glimpse into the relaxed, hippie side of Hampi.
After breakfast, we bid farewell to Hampi and journey to Badami, known for its dramatic red sandstone cliffs and ancient rock-cut cave temples. Along the way, we visit the Pattadakal Group of Monuments, a UNESCO World Heritage Site showcasing a harmonious blend of Dravidian and Nagara temple architecture. We also stop at Aihole, often referred to as the cradle of Indian temple architecture, home to over 100 remarkable structures that chronicle the evolution of Indian design. This cultural trail sets the stage for our arrival in Badami, once the glorious capital of the Chalukya dynasty.
Today, we explore the rock-cut wonders of Badami, beginning with the spectacular Badami Cave Temples, carved directly into the cliffs and dedicated to Hindu gods and Jain Tirthankaras. Their vibrant carvings and ancient murals speak volumes of the region’s glorious past. We then walk to the tranquil Agastya Lake, framed by centuries-old temples and rust-hued rock faces. Our final stop is the peaceful Bhutanatha Temple Complex, known for its beautiful reflection in the lake waters—an enchanting sight to behold.
After breakfast, we make our way to Hubballi, where our wonderful journey through Karnataka’s historic heartland comes to an end. It’s time to say goodbye, but the stories and memories of Hampi and Badami will stay with us forever. As we part ways, let’s stay connected—until we meet again on another unforgettable Dreamland Travel adventure.
