Day Wise Itinerary

Your Bhutan journey begins with an unforgettable flight into Paro, offering breathtaking aerial views of the Himalayas. The landing at Paro Airport is a thrilling experience, navigating through dramatic Bhutanese foothills. Upon arrival, you'll be warmly greeted by your local guide, followed by a scenic 1.5 to 2-hour drive (65 km) to Thimphu, Bhutan’s bustling capital and tourism hub. After checking in at your hotel, you’ll have free time in the evening to explore Thimphu town, stroll around local markets, or simply relax and enjoy the serene surroundings.
After breakfast, the day is dedicated to exploring the cultural and spiritual highlights of Thimphu. Visit Kuenselphodrang to see the giant Buddha Dordenma, followed by the National Memorial Chorten and the Folk Heritage Museum. Enjoy a traditional Bhutanese lunch at the Folk Heritage Restaurant. Continue with visits to Sangaygang Viewpoint, the Takin Reserve Centre, Changangkha Monastery, Simply Bhutan (a cultural museum), and the majestic Tashichho Dzong. Each site offers insight into Bhutan’s heritage and way of life. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Thimphu.
After breakfast, drive back to Paro, a scenic 65-kilometer journey. En route, stop at the charming Tamchog Lhakhang, a temple built by the famous Tibetan saint Thangtong Gyalpo. Upon arrival in Paro, explore the impressive Rinpung Dzong, a historic fortress-monastery, and Ta Dzong, now serving as the National Museum of Bhutan, housing art, relics, and artifacts. This day is a wonderful mix of scenic drives and cultural discovery. In the evening, settle in for a relaxing dinner and overnight stay at your hotel in Paro.
Begin the day with breakfast, followed by either a full-day local sightseeing tour of Paro or an unforgettable excursion to the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest). Perched on a cliffside, this sacred site is believed to be where Guru Padmasambhava meditated in the 8th century. Alternatively, visit other attractions like Nyamey Zam (traditional cantilever bridge), Dungtse Lhakhang, and Druk Choeding. End the day with a leisurely stroll through Paro town’s vibrant market. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Paro.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed with a transfer to Paro International Airport. As you bid farewell to the peaceful kingdom of Bhutan, cherish the unforgettable memories of Himalayan views, sacred sites, and warm Bhutanese hospitality. Your onward journey begins with a heart full of cultural richness and serenity from this Himalayan paradise.
